WANTED: DIY Rack Plans for my garage

Hey Bikers,

I want to earn some points with my "Mrs." and clean up the garage by building a rack like the attached pic for 6 bikes. Can anyone help out with suggested plans, materials & measurements?

If you want to save on space in the garage. There are $2.99CDN coated hooks that you can buy from Home Depot that screws right into wooden beams. Then you just hang your bikes by the wheels. They are rated for 75lbs, provided you have them installed in 1" thick solid wood.

Super simple and easy, just pick a spot. Drill a small pilot hole and screw it in.

I like this kind... The kind you want to build seems pretty simple to build too though. Just build it so the bikes are two feet apart and fit the width of the rear wheel...

Scuba, I'm already using a couple hooks for a couple bikes. I need this rack on the ground so my kids can easily park their bikes.

ScottNotBombs - I just needed a number to start with. 2 feet sounds good.

Thanks, fellas!

This gets my vote, too. I have seven bikes hanging from the ceiling joists in a little shed. Way easier and cheaper than building a rack. You can find the vinyl coated hooks at Home Depot sometimes in multi-packs for a buck or so each.
Don't worry about the weight on the wheel doing any damage. I've hung my bikes that way for 20 years.
