....to bibs. These things are definetely the cat's pajamas when it comes to comfort when riding. My local pusher, err, bike dude hooked me up with some Blackbottom Bibs ($55), which given my Fred Flintstone like build, fit beautifully.

I'm hooked.

I chose bibs from the get go, I got some Camapagnolo metal series for $60 and they rock.
In the catalogs I see people with undershirts and then the bibs and thats it, I myself wear a jersey over the bib. Am I the only one?

I would think the catalogs are that way so you can see the full extent of the bib.

But what do I know, I'm just a recent convert.

Man, I agree 100%. Bibs rock! My pal bought me a set in Italy (where he switched from shorts) and I have not worn anything else since that time. I have tried to return to shorts a few times, and it just not feel the same. I picked up a few matching sets of shirts/bibs on gearlink. Once you go bib, you never go back

I have both. I really don't find a big difference between the two. Maybe it's my build (fat).

I agree, bibs are the bomb. Sooooo comfortable. My favorites are the Voler Titano Team Bib Short from Velowear.com. Only 59.95, but they run specials for around 45.00 sometimes. I'll never go back to shorts. Ugh.

I just got my first set of bibs in August. I LOVE them. Mine are the cheapy Nashbar bibs. I find them very comfy and fit well. I still wear my shorts for commuting etc. But on longer rides, it the bibs that get the call to duty.

I switched to bibs in June 2003. Got 5 pairs (2 black, 2 gray, 1 royal blue) from velowear.com that are really nice but my favorites are Etxe-Ondo bibs (1 black, 1 gray, 1 navy blue) from bicyclinghub.com.
