Alternatives to mounting U-Lock or change to mini?
I'm thinking of changing my OnGuard Brute STD because of its hefty size.
I just received my Mars 4.0 tail light and I'm forced to move the U-lock to not block the tail light. Sadly the inner triangle of the bike has the water bottle cage and I don't want to chuck that away just for the lock.
Does anyone else mount they're U-Lock differently? Or Should I sell mine off and purchase Brute Mini or Bulldog mini?
And if I do change, is there a big difference between a 18mm U-lock as opposed to a 13mm?

I'll Preface by saying I ride a much different kind of bicycle than you (Surly Long Haul Trucker) but, I've found attaching a U-Lock to the side of my rack works quite well. You should be able to fashion up something that attaches to the left side chainstay I'd imagine, with the U pointing up towards the seat pretty easily.

I have my computer on the stem and plan on installing a cellphone holder of sorts on the handle bar at some point.
As for the left side, that sounds reasonable enough for me to tinker around . I'm open to suggestions on how to do it and what to use actually.

Can you leave your lock where you usually park it?

I just did yesterday; Especially when I knew I was going to ride to school. But I'll usually bring it home with me just in case I want to ride somewhere else besides school.
