Bike Rack Question (how it holds the bike)

I'm looking at hitch mount racks for a class 1 trailer hitch and most of the ones I've found you set the top tube on the rack and then there is a strap that goes over the tube. My questions is, for those who's bikes have the derailleur and brake cables going along the top tube (not in the tube) does this strap going over top affect those? Does it cause you to make adjustments more often or anything?

I don't think there's a hitch rack for a class 1 hitch that holds the bike by the wheels

The rack and straps won't affect the cables. The cables only get moved a few centimeters when the bike is strapped in place.

I used to own one of those & switched to a Thule 916 T2 because I like the ability to remove the first bike without having to remove all of them. The bikes also do not lay up against each other so it's easier to avoid scratches.

By class 1 hitch are you using a 1-1/4" square receiver? if that is the case then Yakima makes the Holdup for a 1-1/4" receiver.
