U locks are solid steel, in the UK it's a D lock ... it's not a cable.. so which is it you want?

it is a cable comes with the u lock (D lock).

Coil it up like this, stick the legs of the U through the ends, then velcro the cable's loop to the U's loop, lock and mount.

Personally, I succeeded in that maybe twice before deciding it's much too fussy and time-consuming. Now I just throw everything in the bag.

It really take some time to doing like that. I don't want to carry the bag every time.

Cycling has really reinforced one of life's lessons for me. There's what I want, and what will work. Seldom are they the same thing. When in conflict, I've learned to go with what works.

Two Fish company offers a set of 3 rubber/velcro strap things to attach to the bars/stem.
you can just hang stuff from the bars..

I have yet to see anybody else try it. I put some leftover handlebar tape around the end so its a little more of a snug fit, which makes it less prone to bouncing around, but it is a really handy place to pack it if you don't want to carry a bag.

i just did a test fit on mine and it fits snugly in there and goes almost perfectly around my seat bag, really is a clever idea im glad you posted that
