Are Scott bikes any good?

I know this is a vague question since there are so many different models but as a whole, are they any good?

Bike = a frame and components made by other companies, attached to it ,
brand is painting on a logo.

Good is subjective , YGWYPF. goes for the built labor too
the mechanic that assembled it may have done his job well or poorly.

Coke or Pepsi?

Fair enough. I'll ask a more specific question.

I nearly bought one, found it to be a good value but went for full caron instead. Check on a company's warranty, most have a good frame warranty. If they do not then I would pass.

Aren't the top of the line Scott bikes full carbon? I always though they were.

From what I've heard, Scott does a competent job of coordinating the assembly, marketing, and distribution of bicycles. You will have to assess whether your local bicycle shop employs mechanics that are up to the task of assembling these bicycles.

I prefer Coca-Cola.

Sure are, but a more local LBS had what I wanted at the price I wanted.

While most brands nowadays outsources their frame builds, the true test of how good a bike a certain brands is depends on how well they stand behind their product. What kind of warranty do they have? Do they post their quality standards and any metrics on their website? I've heard good things about the brand, but I'd do much more research on them and also where I would plan on purchasing it from before making a final decision.
