Well I couldn't find a forum about this, so I'll just post here.

After my purchase of a Trek 7.1fx, and after commuting 35k a day, It has worked beautifully. I've lost about 30lbs over 3 months, so for the winter I want to keep it up, but a few things have come up:

1. I have stopped working and went back to school, therefore no more 35k/day rides

2. Snow

So I have decided to look into getting a fitness bike. I was first just going to get a cheap one, but after buying a decent bike, I Wanted another good bike that I will use.

I have been doing some research, and came accross the Bladez Fusion fitness bike, which retails for $799.99. Link:

So today I picked it up, for $399 (It was a half price sale). i set it up and I really like it, very sturdy, and the 40lb weight makes it very smooth.

So I am just wondering a few things:

1. Is this a good fitness bike? As in how long will it last, and could I have gotten something better?

2. Is the price that I got good for this bike? $800 seems pretty steep, but it is very solid, and reminds me of a gym style bike.

So does anything know anything about this bike?

Don't know anything about fitness bikes, but I'm curious why you would get one rather than a stationary trainer and just put your Trek on it?

If you ride it and it helps you meet your goals it's worth it.

+1 on the trainer idea. Or just put wider tires on the bike you have and ride outside.

I could have gotten something to convert my bike into a stationary bike, but those have a few problems:

1. $200
2. not as much resistance
3. pretty noisy

For the $200 price, I was looking at trainers for the same price, that were quieter and with more resistance. I then saw this bike on sale for $400, so I picked it up. I would not have spent more than $400, nevermind $800.

I really needed something quiet, and from what I hear/have seen, the stationary bike converters are pretty loud.

Loud? That's news to me? Most magnetic and fluid trainers are relatively quiet.

There are 622-35 studded tires to tackle the snowy roads over the winter ,
as well as 26" Mountain bike types.

so a bike to get out on the road even if an exercise loop is a good thing..
