    Momovelo--how to get a refund?

Does anyone have any insight as to how to get a refund from Kai at Momovelo (www.momovelo.com). I ordered two items two months ago, was charged for them, and never received the items. I've sent almost 10 e-mails to the various momovelo e-mail addresses. They don't list a telephone number. I understand they may have closed up shop, but maybe someone knows him personally on these boards that can help me out. I just want my money back.

If you never recieved product and used a credit card, dispute it with your card company.

Hopefully if you used a credit card you can approach your credit card company to step in on your behalf.

Spread the word!!! DO NOT BUY FROM MOMOVELO!! I ordered a folding bike from them February 2nd, 2004. My confirmation said it would be shipped within 24 hours but it never arrived. I contacted him after a couple weeks and said he would be in in a month so I opted to wait. The production of the bike (Dahon) has continuously been put back to where they are now forecasting January 15th, 2005. I don't blame Momovelo for the production of the bike but they have refused to respond to numerous e-mails about refunding my money or changing the order to something in stock. They don't have a valid phone number and have a history of horrible customer service!!

Don't buy from someone who won't even list an address and phone number.

I had the same experience as you with them. This is the first and only time it happened to me, buying anuything via the Web. They are associated with yahoo shopping, and I thought that yahoo checks who they represent, but I guess this one slipped through their fingers. Did you ever get any resolution of this con?

I noticed that Momo Velo took down the link to their Yahoo Store and now just shows products on the site.

I think Kai is a good guy and bicycling enthusiast, but a bad business man. Just because one loves something, that doesn't make them successful at selling that something in business. He's an example of this.

I would suggest people only buy from him in person at this store. He's had good things said about him as a inperson experience. Just sucks online.

Too bad his online operation is no bueno. He's got some nice stuff that I haven't been able to find anywhere else yet. I don't live in the Bay Area anymore, so now I would have to mail order but I like my money too much for that gamble.

Just looked at his "News" page and for Autumn 2004 his only line of news is "See you next Spring"

    http://www.momovelo.com/news/index.html

Looks like he's out of commision for the time being, I hope not for those who are trying to get a refund from him.
