Thank you so much for your responses! My project is due Oct. 11, so the survey has now been closed.

******************************************************************
I am a student, and I am working on a group marketing assignment and we desperately need people who own bicycles to take our survey. It should not take more than a few minutes, and I would be so grateful. If you can't, thank you for at least taking the time to read my post!

It did set cookies, though, as soon as you went there, maybe to keep you from voting twice.

Once again, everyone over 65 gets lumped into one big group!

Will this never end?

He sure doesn't know his bicycle brands!

Thank you to everyone for your help! I really appreciate it.

I apologize for failing to mention that our professor has limited us to American consumers only, so if your primary residence is not in the United States, the survey cannot be taken.

Also yes, the survey service I am using does try to prevent the survey from being re-taken by the same household.

Finally, you are correct. Unfortunately, my knowledge is limited on bicycle brands, but this survey is serving a dual purpose for me - (1) for my group project at school and (2) since I am getting ready to purchase a new bicycle myself and get into biking. This forum has been very helpful! Thank you so much!

Last I heard, Canada, Mexico and all of many Central American countries were in North AMERICA, and Brazil and Venezuela, Chili and a whole bunch of other countries were in South AMERICA, making them ALL AMERICANS! Has this changed recently?

Your professor needs a good geography lesson!

Just delete the SurveyMonkey cookie and you can take the survey as often as you like.

Took the survey. Gotta agree with DenverFox, lumping everyone over 65 is lazy or tells us that whomever is behind survey this could care less about further discimination above that mark.

However, mandatory questions are bogus. Usually, if that is something you don't want to answer, you abort the survey and some good information is lost. Not too sharp.

Agree that the brands are far too limited. This is like a company wanting a college student to measure their brand against major competitors, although they did ask what brands come to mind. For someone with relatively few bikes, this will probably be the brands of the bike(s) owned.

Could be the student is working with a group wanting to open a bike store, but then they should localize the survey to their market.

man Dnvr we both keep running into the same problems with these polls, you get left out in the over 65 group and I get stuck in the under 18 group that nobody really cares about becuase for all they know im a 2 year old.

and ya your right about the bike brands......he didnt even have Specialized on the list

Can you modify the survey after you created it?

If so, it would be good to add some of the other well-known bike names, like
Specialized
Gary Fisher
Giant
k2
bianchi

etc, there are quite a few others, i'm sure you'll get some more suggestions shortly.

As a marketing professor, I have some serious problems with your survey. May I inquire as to its purpose? Maybe I can help.
