Hang Bike on Wall for Decoration

I've got an excellent-condition '92 Trek 2300 that my daughter rides when she visits (about once a year). I was thinking that instead of letting it hang in the cold, damp, dark garage, I'd put it on the wall in the exercise room.

Has anyone hung a bike on the wall for decoration? If so, could you post a picture, and let me know what kind of supports you used?

Maybe something like this would look good.

Good idea, esp. in an exercise room. Looks like a nice mount, as long as it is affixed to a wall stud. The bike will appreciate the respect shown to it.

I was a bit concerned that you were thinking of hanging it in a formal living room. Exercise room sounds like exactly the right place.

When I was single I had 3 bikes in a loft apartment, I hung one on the railing up to the loft. Now that I have a spouse the only place I have bikes are in the basement or garage.

step mom has her colnogo hanging on a wall adjacent to a nice pool table in the family room. it gives the room a very classy "sports bar" feel. (pretty cool for a woman that is close to 60)

she used a wood "rack" like you posted that was finished to match the pool table and woodwork around the windows

i have my tommasini and silca floor pump on display in my living room. i am single (until september) but my future wife thinks it is pretty and says that it can stay in the house. (the xc bike may have to find a new home though)

It hangs better, if you take off a pedal and cut the bars in half..

I've got four bikes on the wall in my bike room. Two on either side of the fireplace, near the ceiling and two below them. I'm sorry I don't have pictures for you, I lost them when my old computer crashed and I don't have a cord to put the pics from my camera to my computer.

But it does look cool.

I'd love to do that with my old Trek 790 hybrid bike that has gone with me through Europe and the Middle East.
