Reuse Handlebar Tape?
I want to run my brake cables under my handlebar tape, can I re-use what is currently on my bike. The tape itself is in good condition, I just don't know if handlebar tape is a one type thing or not. Thanks for your help.

There are differnt types so it depends. Some have adhesive backing and some don't. The adhesive backing IME usually rip tear during removal. I have removed the adhesive type in the past for a quick repair but must be VERY careful while unwrapping.
The type without adhesive is easy to remove but depending on how long its been on the bike, it can form to the bars and be hard to replace. But if the tape isn't that old, it's not a big problem.

I double layer the tape , around my trekking bars , older tape goes on first.
dropbars may be more comfortable if you double layer the foam tape on top/center.

Thanks for the heads up, I guess I'll just have to pull it off and see what happens.
