The title "says'" it all. Just how do you pronounce Ksyrium?

Anything relating to bikes that is not pronounced "steel" or "steal" will usually cost you a bunch of money.

I don't want to start anything, but I haven't seen a top notch steel frame with fork for under $2000. Why do so many refer to steel stuff as inexpensive? I can buy a complete Trek-of-the-day carbon bike for just what the frame of a good high quality steel frame and fork cost.
