Scored some bike stuff today
I just have to share. I got a gently-used pair of Sidi Genius 5 road shoes for $100 (they look almost new in the photos and the owner said he'd only used them for 3 rides) and a Quick Look jersey for $25. The jersey was kind of an impulse buy but I've been looking for these same shoes for awhile now.
I have a 15-year-old pair of Sidi's that are starting to wear down and I will need to replace them soon (also they don't take the cleats for the pedals I just bought). They've got the ratchet strap which I really like but of course that makes them more pricey -- $230 on sale at my local bike shop. I have a little bit of spending money I didn't expect to have but I just couldn't bring myself to buy them at that price (even though my current ones cost me $175 and have been worth every penny).
Finding a pair for $100 just makes me happy. I'm crazy I know but I figured somebody here would understand. Now, I hope they're as nice in person as they are in the photo. The price of doing business on eBay.

Congrats, I also just bought some new SiDi genius 5 shoes. Paid $238 for them from 'Chain Reaction' in the U.K. They're pretty nice, but I doubt I'll ever pay that much again for bike shoes. The Diadora and Vittoria shoes I had were just as good at half the price, so lesson learned. The new SiDi's are pretty cool though, even if I did buy into all the hype.
