Kids in Trailer - helmets
What's the general consensus on helmets for kids in trailers?
Talking about kids strapped in via a 5-point harness and frame fully around the kids.

I've never had kids in a trailer, but in all the ones I've seen, the construction isn't going to stop a kids head from whacking a curb through the side of the frame if the trailer overturns.

My kids wore them in the trailer as I wasn't convinced the trailer would protect them if it tipped over let alone was hit by a larger vehicle. A nice side benefit is that since they have always associated bikes with helmets (the adults in our family wear them too) they don't even seem to realize that some people don't wear them so we haven't had the "helmet battle" now that they are on their own bikes.

my daughter will usually wear her helmet for the first 5-10 minutes before it comes off. Funny since she likes to wear it around the house for longer periods.
The way I see it, on the MUP, we're going all of 10 mph in a straight line. Low risk of tip-over, I don't get too bent about her not wearing it - certainly not enough so to ruin a perfectly good ride with my family.
