Locking my electric bike scooter?

http://freedom-road.ca/photos

This is a bike/scooter but it looks more like a scooter. It is an ignition start and the steering wheel will lock in place with a key...as well it has an alarm. Will this be sufficient to deter a thief? I notice that electric street scooters are mostly just parked without being chain locked...figured this should be the same.

A couple things I'd consider:
1) Can you drive it away without starting it (i.e. using just the pedals)? If the wheel is locked this probably isn't possible anyway, but who knows how simple the locking mechanism is to disable. Or maybe one day you forget to lock it and just turn it off and take the key.
2) How heavy is it it? Easily picked up and thrown into a pickup truck by one or two opportunists?
Depending on how you answer you may want to consider a secondary locking mechanism. I had one for my motorcycle - it attached to the wheel, locking it in place, and had a cable that could go around something solid to keep it there. I never bothered using it because it seemed like more hassle than it was worth.

If it's electric, why does it have an ignition start?
Looks like the electric equivalent of a moped. Quieter and no cloud of smoke, I suppose, but seems not so much a bicycle.
Looks as if light enough to pick up an throw into a vehicle, as previously mentioned, so you may need to secure it to something.

Sorry I meant key start...it is 100% electric. It has a wheel locking mechanism and an alarm that will sound off with any movement so I think that will be sufficient.
