Platform peddles reccomendations?

I'm getting some platforms for my SS while in heavy traffic because my foot likes to slip and I can't afford all that time to slip in or clip on my feet.

There is so many platforms out there, I don't know what to choose.

Budget around $20, 9/16 size on road bike. Neon Green touch to road bike.

Thanks in advance!

I won't go clipless because of the money

Powergrips don't help me in traffic

Toe clips and straps don't help me with traffic

I don't like regular track peddles

I've always like the look and feel of platforms

$20 is cheap for something that can last the last of my life if I don't wreck with them

You choose which reason

Doesn't take a but an instant to clip into or out of SPD pedals.

I know, peddles are spelled pedals!

My spell check on my computer sucks!

SPD pedals are EXPENSIVE. I'm not going to pay close to what I paid for my bike to just have some fancy shoes and pedals.

I've debated it for months and I want platforms now.

And no, even with just small toe clips. it doesn't help in traffic. I ride doing 25-35 mph will the rest of the traffic and I have to stop at stop lights. I have a friend with clipless, he hates lights. I have had toe clips, straps and powergrips before. I like platforms better.

I'm just trying to ask if someone like his platforms over others out in the world because of any reason

I used a pair of these platform pedals a long time ago. Toe clips required.

Used a pair of Wellgo pedals similar to these briefly a few years ago. That's probably more what you had in mind.

Those are nashbar rebrands, but after I found what they were originally, I found a good deal. Thanks

If you can spring for about $30, look at the Wellgo MG-1s from this ebay seller:

http://cgi.ebay.com/WELLGO-MG-1-MG1-...7#ht_710wt_702

I bought a few pairs last years as gifts for some kids. They are lightweight and come in colors--always a bonus when kids are involved.

Is that why you're peddling SPD's in this thread?

These are my favorite. http://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...5&category=113 I don't remember what I paid, but I know I found them for less than the $45 on this link.

And I am with you. I keep up with my friends who are cleated in just fine. Maybe I would want the alleged edge of cleats if I had different friends, but platform pedals can't be beat for dealing with the unexpected.
