Any one else sick of the $%#@ rain!

Any one else sick of the $%#@ rain! Here in Pittsburgh. we have had 21 days of rain in April and May isn't starting any better. I am missing my evening rides. I really look forward to the longer days when I can ride in the evening but I don't think I have been able to do one this year!

Yesterday I would have agreed with you. But today was so beautiful, I'm cured.

Hope your weather clears soon.

We are over twenty inches for the last week of April
and the first few days of May, That is half of our
annual amount. The camp grounds around the lake
are under water but they think it will not hurt as
gas prices will keep the numbers down. About
a third of the camp sites are not usable.

Yes, I am sick of the rain and cold. 36 this morning.
20` below normal.

Where I live it's been super dry. The problem is we are having horrible wind. Sometimes even enough to throw you off your bike. Also there are mosquito swarms everywhere.

Been monsoons, here in Ohio. I think we've been getting something like one or two days a week, without rain, and never in a row. Starting to wonder if it's time to build an ark.

Rainy here in New York too. I've been riding anyway. The Terratrike is very stable in wet conditions. I do miss my contact lenses though! I wear glasses to save some money and I need wipers on them! ha

My girlfriend and I both agreed this morning that it is, indeed, getting freakin old. All this rain. But I guess it'll make us appreciate it all the more when it clears out.

I'm glad the rain is finally stopping here in the Burg. Hope to be going for a ride tonight on one of the local trails.

That's not exactly what she said.

If seems like it has rained for 40 days and 40 nights here, I am very sick of it. I planned to go for a long ride today but there are very dark ominous clouds moving in.

I should have ridden my bike in today. Even a non-rainproof jacket stopped the rain on my walk up the hill.

I should buy tires that can handle wet road.

In the UK it's so dry we've been having forest and moorland fires in April. No rain for many weeks and a slight possibility of some by the end of this week.

A friend in Arizona says the drought conditions are pretty bad. She said there was a huge pow wow of the local native american nations and they had a rain dance that was very impressive.

We've had excessive precipitation for several months in a row, first as snow and now as rain. We managed to break two records within four months of each other...snowiest December on record and rainiest April on record. Our spring temperatures are averaging 15 to 20 degrees below normal.

The results....most WNY farmers are three to four plantings behind schedule due to fields that resemble rice paddies. School sports and town youth sports programs have all but stopped due to submerged or water-saturated playing fields. Streams are very, very high. The Finger Lakes are dangerously high causing many new and uncharted barely submerged objects that are threatening recreational boating. There's so much moisture in the soil that there are large puddles of standing water on our sandy beach!! I'm seeing standing water where I've never ever seen it before..and I've lived here for 60 years! It's still raining.

I fear that the economic hits, ranging from agriculture to tourism and recreation are going to be numerous and very difficult to deal with.

Oh, it also makes riding much less enjoyable.

Yes, I'm getting a tad bit frustrated with all this rain.

It's been beautiful down here in Texas, except for wind. But it's always something. In another month, the heat will be on, big-time.

Indeed and temperatures up in the 20s C (70s F). Our driest and warmest on record.

And now the bad news ... Apparently records show that a warm, dry April in the UK has a 70% chance of being followed by a cool, cloudy, wet summer - just like the last 4 crappy ones!

April and so far in May have been cold, windy (20-30mph), and rain most days. What happened to spring anyway?

  1. Install fenders
  2. grow a pair
  3. problem solved.

I exceeded my mileage goal for April by 15%. Commuted every workday, got in at least one club ride every week.
