i feel like an idiot..am i an idiot?

so i bought some cycling shorts, thinking they were shorts..but i guess they're just liners, is that a problem? or can i continue wearing them like shorts without looking like an idiot. they look like normal cycling shorts..at least to me.

Liners are usually thin enough to see through. If you don't mind giving the free show, I'm sure nobody else cares.

xizangstan 05-13-11 03:47 PM

Do you have anything to show? If not, no big deal. So to speak.

I dug this old standard out for another thread just a moment ago...seems appropriate here too. :p

When you bought them this should have been a clue.

Idiot is such a strong word and when we use it, people's feelings get hurt.

twobadfish 05-14-11 09:15 AM

Idiot? No. Just a hasty shopper.

Retro Grouch 05-14-11 09:16 AM

Possibly, but buying those liners isn't what made you one.

rumrunn6 05-14-11 09:17 AM

oops time for N+1 on the shorts. either get some cool shorts to wear over the liners from Lululemon or spring for real shorts

i bought them in store and i didn't notice anything about liners being on it. i went back and tried them on, i think i'm just gonna wear them. they fit fine and you can't see through them, so its all good. haha

ShimmerFade 05-14-11 10:57 AM

Probably nice and cool in the summer!

hueyhoolihan 05-15-11 12:47 AM

sure put 'em on! nobody will notice.

i like to wear my tighty whities on the outside every once in a while, just to mix it up.

fietsbob 05-15-11 02:12 AM

a pair of baggy mountain bike shorts, made to add a liner,
rather than have one built in
is what you need, practical and your modesty is protected.

xizangstan 05-15-11 02:28 AM

Ever notice it's the guys who have the least to show that are the most modest?

Awwww, nevermind.

;)

catonec 05-15-11 03:44 AM

If you ride fast enough no one will ever notice. woooosh

tntyz 05-15-11 06:44 AM

Wear them and enjoy them. I did the same thing a few years ago and nobody ever noticed . . .

Just take them back.

But don't wear them first!

fietsbob 05-15-11 10:56 AM

The rubber thread that makes spandex stretchy will break down over time,
letting more air thru is a benefit, but that rubber stuff does make the fabric more Opaque.

and if your junk is too small, just buy a prosthetic

gorlax 05-18-11 07:49 AM

I think I may have done the same thing but cannot tell. I got mine at a thrift store though, so I got them for $7. I don't care if they are just a liner or not, I'm wearing them as shorts when the summer heat comes.

Surrealdeal 05-18-11 08:05 AM

You're not an idiot for making a mistake and buying the wrong pair of shorts, but caring what a bunch of people spread across the internet think of you makes you highly suspect.
