Video of me cycling. Is my fit good?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzfs-fK7csc

I just got my new bike and noticed my seatpost doesn't go any lower! Do you think the fit is ok? I'm looking for thoughts on seat height/frame size in particular.

thanks!

Not optimum, but looks like it'll work.

@ flying Merkel - Thanks for the input, what looks off to you?

@ gremlin - It's just the way my area is set up. It's a town house, somewhere between an apartment and a house.

thanks!

If the seatpost is adjusted all the way down, it's hard to say that it's at the perfect height. How tall are you? My preference (and one that seems to be common) for a mountain bike/ hybrid is to have the hand grips about level with the seat. Divides your weight between hands & butt. It'll take a bit of fiddling to get all the particulars dialed in. I adjusted the seat on my road bike to tilt about 1/2" downward at the nose- made a significant difference

And beware of taking bike fitting advice from some guy on the internet who's never seen you or your bike.

That's a lot for the help =)

I'm 6"5, but I think my inseam is a little short for my height. I noticed peddling with the balls of my feet helped a lot, as it gives me a little more bend in my fully extended leg.

I guess the best thing to do is to ride it more and more, and as comfort issues arise take care of them one by one. Right now by butt and hands hurt, but I'm only on my third ride, I'm sure they will "break in"

I believe the bike is a little big for me. And by a little I mean a very little little bit. No more than an inch. But I don't know, which is why I'm hoping someone with experience can give me their opinion judging by my video. I was thinking that if it's too bad, which I don't believe it is, I can always buy a seatpost without suspension. That should allow me to make the seat a bit lower, since there wont be any suspension taking up 2-3inches.

thanks!

Seems to me it's perhaps a bit big as well. Your knees are not bending enough on the top of the pedal stroke, and you seem to be "reaching" at the bottom of the stroke. This can cause a number of problems....

If you have very short legs or an overly long torso it might be difficult to find a good fit. You have to find something and make it fit the best you can.

^What they said. Looks like about the biggest frame possible. I couldn't see the left, but your right leg appears to have a bit of bend at the bottom of the pedal stroke. That is good. Ride it for awhile and see what you get. The tricky part is discerning the aches and pains of a beginner rider, and the genuine pains of a bad fit. Pay attention to what your body is telling you.

For some reason that vid made me take my old beater Puch out of the garage, oil it and ride it around the neighborhood today.

Doesn't look as if you should be thinking about lowering your seat.
Gloves may help hand comfort.
