so tempted by this brooks...

https://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...446855002.html

Ah, an expensive brooks, but hardly used? for $50? What?
I asked if he had the adjuster, because I figured if he did there would be less likely chances of it being stolen. He didn't have it.

IDK what to do. in my last e-mail I asked him if there was any way for me know it's not hot, maybe a little insulting, but seriously. This is probably hot, isn't it?

Gahhhhhh

edit to add CL text:

Moving next week and need to come up with my expenses so the luxuries in life have to go.
A beautiful seat, barely used no signs of wear.
Exquisite british craftmanship if you don't know about these seats read more here

Moving soon and need to get rid of it in the next few days

Probably not but maybe. Did Simons Bike Shop get busted into during the riot? Maybe it's from there.

He did get back to me, he says he got it on a bike he bought on Craigslist, and is replacing it with a gel seat. I hope I'm not going to hell for this, but I'm going to try and get it tonight.

one more thing since I'm here, is it even possible to stick it on this thing:

yaya, I know, lipstick on a pig. But come on, it's pretty much a given I'm going to upgrade before winter hits (I've decided I'm never going to stop biking to work) and I figure the seat can be transplanted. Also, this bike is going to look so, uh, awesome, with a brooks saddle and a milk crate strapped to the back when I get groceries.

Hey, I think the bike looks good as it is, the brooks will only enhance it's appearance further.

A B17 isn't that expensive of a saddle, unless its a Special. A new one is around 80-90 so 50 isn't all http suspicious.

What I was going to say. Fifty bucks for a used B17 is a decent price, but not shocking. I bought one at a thrift shop a couple of years ago for $4.50.
Also, if by "adjuster" you mean the little wrench that fits the tensioner nut (or whatever it's called), I've bought three B-17s new, and none of them came with that wrench. Maybe they're supposed to, but the lack of one isn't necessarily an indication that it was stolen.

They do come with it, on the card. Of course Sheldon Brown said that when someone messes with that, they usually ruin their saddle.

I just picked up a Brooks B17 for 80 bucks, I'm happy with the price. It had been used, but its impossible to tell.

I say, as long as it isn't "pre-molded" or was left out in the rain, it's a good Brooks.

$50 for a used B17 is a plausible price. Is the saddle a B17? I bought my first one years ago for about $75, so if I had tried it a few times and then put it on the shelf thinking I might try again in the future ... and then a few years later, decided to sell it, I might price it at $50.

And ... what adjuster??

By adjuster, do you mean a wrench? I have seven Brooks saddles and none of them came with the Brooks wrench
