Polar vs. Camelback
The Camelback bottles are SO much better than the Polar bottles. The difference in temperature alone is significant, plus the liquid comes out of the bottle so much nicer in the Camelback. I have one of each and I think I may splurge and buy another Camelback and retire the Polar. I'm just sayin'...

So, Gary, tell me about the spout. Can you take it apart to clean it? And which Camelback are you referring to?
I am very interested in this as I have heard some good things about, IIRC, the Podium Chill but none of my LBSs stock it.
I do like, very much, the ability to clean the spout in the Polars. Plus not having experience with the Camelbacks the Polar is the best insulated bottle I have used. So far.

Yes, it's the podium chill https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UNMES6. I don't see any way to take the spout off or apart. It might could be done, but I don't want to tear mine up trying

Thanks for the link. Bottles are cheap and for me right now insulation is good.
I'd still like to buy them from a local shop so maybe I'll get my closest to order a pair.
Here's something though, the Polars are marked 24oz vs. 21oz for the Chill.

I have both and I prefer the Camelbak because I can safely turn it upside down. I haven't had issues yet with the liquids freezing up unless I get down to half a bottle and I forget to turn it upside down and it's below 0F.

Thanks for the review, I'll be getting a couple of the Camelbacks, and I've found that there is a "Dirt Cap" extra available for it to keep the drinking nozzle clean.

What I like about the camelback is that after a metric century, where I've taken a wrong turn and extended the mileage way past my limit, and I cripple home where those last ten miles are a mental blurr of pain, and I throw my bike down and collapse on the first grass with shade I see, and I have absolutely no energy left to raise my head for at least the next 30 minutes...
...I can still drink from my camelback bottle needing only to lift my arm with the bottle in it's vertical position because the liquid is 'sealed' inside until I either suck or squeeze. Since I've already 'sucked' all day, I choose to squeeze....
