not chatting to me. :(

I was googling for a Raleigh Panache mixte bike. As Ive been building one. I found someone had rebuilt his sisters bike, on a website called Cycle Chat. Site looked ok. so I registered on there. Jst got the email back for activation, into my hotmail account.
I clicked it. the front page come up and said I wasnt allowed to visit the site.
How come? Has anybody else been on there? Is it a problem with them? Or is it my Hotmail account.

Maybe there's a waiting period.

I had waited an hour or so for the activation email. I thought it would be activated and good to go after that.

It might take longer than that.

Sometimes folks will activate an account just to agrivate another poster. Making them wait for a period of time is a simple way to circumvate that issue.
I assume that some sites also require activation by a person. The person who does that may not be in constant contact to OK you.

well I tried today. It wouldnt accept any password I typed. so I went thru password recovery. copied and pasted the password they sent me. still not allowed to visit the website. when I logged on. it boots me back to hotmail.

I would like to make it perfectly clear....I received the activation email yesterday. then clicked that.

I think there must be something wrong with the site. I dont recommend people visiting the site. hope there isnt anything wrong with my pc now

I have had hotmail account emails refused in the past. Check and make sure they don't require an IP based email rather than webmail. I belong to a couple of smaller forums that require you to register with an IP based email. Not sure what happens if you don't.

Aaron :)

If you are referring to www.cyclechat.net I just signed up and logged in without any problems.
