Yes...
I voted both, but it depends on the bike. I have three bikes with front and rear racks as well as lowriders. Five or six more bikes have rear racks on them and at least 3 have baskets with one of those having them in both the front and the rear.

Between my wife and me there are 9 bikes about, and 3 rear racks. One rack is currently on a bike and the other two are on a shelf awaiting an occasion to be used.

No racks for me. I'm retired and don't need them. When I was employed and bike commuting I had a rear rack for my panniers.

Rear rack and panniers for my tools, spares, sunscreen, first aid kit, food, extra water, and whatever else I may need, depending on what kind of trip I'm making.
I'm aware it makes me less aerodynamic, but I'd rather be prepared than have to walk home 20 miles.

Yes! Love the basket. Typically it holds my lock and chain, a mini pump, a windbreaker, and my camera bag.

I had a rack on this commuter which sadly only last 800 miles:
This commuter is up to almost 12,000 miles:

Rear rack for pannier for my work clothes. A front rack would make me feel like I should have Toto with me.
@JoeJack - not sure I want ot know the story of what happened there.

I delivered a mountain of newspapers by bike from age 13 to 17. I had two huge rear and one huge front basket as well as eventually a large messenger bag. I always emptied the front basket first as it seriously affected stability.

I like a rear rack and I use either a bungie-net or any number of different sized bags that fit the rack nicely, depending on what I need to carry along.

one of my Mtn Bikes which is set up for RailTrails and commuting right now has a rear rack but I set up my Bianchi Vople as a Tourer with both a rear and small front rack. I can use my panniers on either for running errands if I like.

'86 Sizzling Peach Volpe, sorry I can't find a pic of it with the front rack.

Forget front and rear rack/baskets - I want to know where Bianchigirll got a wine bottle rack!
