How water tight ARE those Burly trailers any way?

OK. The Bruce made the jump from trailer to bike seat this year. He likes it a lot better. He gets to see more stuff and mess around with me behind my back.

Whatever.

It's been POURING out for three days now (OK, it was descent for a little while yesterday but he was taking his nap) and Daddy is going stircrazy AND getting phat. So, the plan is this: stick him in the old Burly and batten down the hatches and crank off an up and down on the localish fully-paved bike path. Will my child drown?

Thank you.

I've been caught in a pretty severe thunderstorm towing my daughter in the Burley and she was dry when we got home.

The canopy is a coated fabric, and sewn together,
if you re-coat the fabric, and seal the seams, like you would for a tent.

then you can improve things.

If the path does not lead you down a boat ramp, Drowning should not be a problem,

but to be safe have the kid wear a Lifejacket as well as a Helmet in there..

Ok. Good advice from the Wet Coast and a used and an abused Jimi! Now that the lad napped through The Crisis, and it has passed, I will hose-test the trailer, seem tape as necessary and retrieve his little l LL Bean life jacket from the boat house! Thank you all.
