Gear search: cycling bib w/front fly?
I'm trying to find a bib that could double-up as a base layer. More specifically, I'm trying to find a bib with a front fly for convenient roadside relief. This bib will be used for both (1) fall/winter/spring riding as a base layer, and (2) as a base layer for when I'm on the motorcycle. No good Google juju lately so I figured I'd ask the crowd for a recommendation.

To my knowledge you will not find what you are looking for. It would defeat the purpose of a well designed cycling bib. They are intended for cycling comfort and efficiency not for convenient "relief."
My recommendation: Forget it and go with a non-bib short if you want an easier-pee base layer. |
There's no such thing.

Wow. I assumed some manufacturer had designed a bib short/tight with a pocket style fly that maintains good compression. I guess I'll just have to suck it up and strip layers when nature calls. I got a tip that Hincapie might make something that fits my requirements.

I have seen womens bibs that fit that description...sort of.

My attempt at humor. :p
I have never encountered what you are looking for. Most men just pull down the front to pee. |

You think about this the wrong way.
Thanks for humoring me. Ima give up on the search and design my own padded underbib short thinger with quick release. I'll make tens of dollars... |

Lots of tongue-to-cheek but not so much "tough" as playfully honest. For a second though, consider the potential side effects of serious, lengthy spinning with your "soft parts" cradled by crotch seams. Generally not a wise or necessary design idea even with the best manufacturing standards. Much easier to pull down the stretchy front or just use non-bib bottoms rather than risk ungodly chafe....

Gotta pee? Just pull your jersey up and pull down on the front of the bibs or pull the leg up and there you go. No problem at all. Even these guys can do it.

Oh man... it's the thread that keeps on giving. I'm feeling the love right now.
Can't a man pee without having to do a yoga pose?! |
