This is the second pair of their "century gloves" I have had the seams start to fray off on, during my first ride with them (each ride less than 5 miles).
The seams around the gel pad are the ones I noticed them happening to first...it's pretty irritating to have $20 pair of gloves go boom on you
So...any good gloves for a size L, who happens to have rather fat fingers...the century gloves were about as tight as I could stand around my fingers...they didnt cut circulation, but they do leave a slight seamprint when I remove them....but those werent the seams that were ripping open...it was the ones along the palm, holding the padding in.

yeah I had the same problem.
my century gloves lasted 20miles into my actual century.
In general I like performance as a store, but not as a
manufacturer of products. Everything is kinda cheap.
If there's an REI in your area check them out. They have
an amazing return policy & most of their stuff is tested out
by the employees. I ordered online a pair of SIDI shoes
once and they let me return them just because they never
felt right. I ended up getting a great pair of Shimano (on
an employee recommendation).

Note: Fox gloves are sweet.

I have put like 700 miles on a pair of their Elite Coolmax gloves since late Sept and they are still in very good condition.

I have some Thunderwear (of San Clemente Ca.) cold weather 3/4 gloves with a heavy leather palm and a neoprene full back in large that I really like.
If you really need gel, put it under your bar tape not in your gloves.

It's not needing gel so much as those being the lightest padding padded gloves I could find. I'm not a fan of huge padding, but I need just a tiny bit to get my hoods feeling right.

Hi,
I got one of the better gloves, and it's the first glove I've really liked since Nashbar stopped selling my all time fave. I also have their neoprene glove, and it's doing ok so far. The cheap stuff anywhere is usually less than satisfactory.

I have a half-fingered summer glove from Performance. It is fraying a bit at the ends of the fingers. But I've been using them for a few months.
I've also had the Performance toasties for a couple months, and they are just about done for. I use MTB shoes with toe clips, and it's tearing the bottom of the toasties up.
I thought their arm warmers weren't very useful. Low prices, but not the best quality.
