Does anyone else have trouble finding pants that fit?
Since I've started bicycling at the beginning of the year, I've dropped about 3 inches off my waist along with 15 to 20 pounds. I don't know the exact numbers, but I know my stomach doesn't jiggle when I go up and down the stairs anymore.
Anyhow, I have a hell of a time finding pants that fit me now. My waist is 30.5 now, but I still have to buy size 32 jeans in relaxed or loose fit otherwise the leg opening will be too small. Believe me, I'm not trying to get into the whole skin tight jeans thing. Depending on the manufacturer sometimes even 32 doesn't fit at all. Just the other day I tried a pair of 32 relaxed jeans and they were skin tight -- I could barely move -- and yet the waist was too big.
At the same time, I don't like how baggy "loose fit" pants tend to be towards the bottom of the leg.
Massive thighs an unintended side effect of bicycling?

Sounds like you've been mashing too much.

Since there doesn't seem to be any serious answer, I'm guessing the answer is no.
What do you mean I've been mashing too much? Pedaling too hard or fast? I really only ride to get to/from work and run errands; not for sport or recreation really.
My commute takes me on a 8% or 9% average grade for just under 1 mi with a 500-700 ft section that is about 12% and there isn't any way around it. When I started riding this section took me about took me about 15 minutes but I've cut 6 minutes off this section. Is this what you meant by mashing too hard?

I've heard of pro bike racers having their pants tailored to fit their physiques. Maybe you should find someone who sews?

At the end of my ski bum period, back when I was downhill telemarking roughly 7 days a week in the winter (full time ski patroller without a girlfriend or a social life) and a full time utility cycling (and was still getting out of the saddle and pumping hard up every hill), I couldn't fit my thighs into anything smaller than baggy fit jeans, usually with a waist size two inches bigger than my actual waist. Luckily I was a teen during the '90s, so baggy pants look normal to me.
There are a number of stretchy cotton/poly blends on the market that might solve your issue with wearing straight up baggy pants (and will look great over your cyclist's legs, to boot). Or you could do what pro-skiers and cyclists do, and visit a tailor.

Lee make some reasonably priced ones, or you can check out someplace like TJ Maxx or Marshalls as most of stretchy jeans that I've found tend to cost around $100. If someone knows of others more reasonably priced please chime in!

I have gone over to sweatpants, for daily wear,
some made with a compound knit fabric, Polyester .
smooth on the outside, fleecy, on the inside, quick drying.. looks OK.
did you know that many individuals with the sign "Alterations" in their window,
can change the taper on pants that otherwise fit, and have the legs tapered.
Or "Pegged", as they did, and called it in the late 50's..
