commo_soulja 10-30-11 01:57 AM

Huh?

Paranoid.Guy 10-30-11 06:40 AM

nicolai: What exactly do you mean? Could you please explain what the yo-yo effect is?

Riding an inexpensive full-suspension mountain bike on the road?

it`s about the rotational momentum conservation law...
pls,has anybody experienced this?
you get faster move than you expect...

nicolai 10-30-11 11:40 AM

it`s happened to me when i turned and bent to the left accidentally very quickly to stop...normally i can stop, but this time by bending i amplified the move, near to fall down...
yes,i ride an inexpensive mountain bike, full suspension...it matters?
so i explained myself what was all about
thank you for the reactions...

Centrifugal force?

Centripetal force?

I took that to mean bouncing up and down, like a yo-yo, on a full suspension mountain bike.

Other than that i have no clue...

krustyone 10-30-11 01:37 PM

centrifugal

*watches melted brain dribble out of left nostril*

To the OP, can you give us any more idea of what you are talking about? An example perhaps?

The only thing I can find about the "yo-yo effect" is to do with dieting.

nicolai 10-31-11 01:47 AM

sorry,i named `yo-yo effect` without knowing that this expression was allready used for diet, better was gyroscopic effect...
i found something here about this in engl...

CaptCarrot 10-31-11 04:04 AM

Ahh. OK.

No idea.

Artkansas 10-31-11 06:43 AM

I believe the experiment you referenced was how they proved that the gyroscopic effect does not keep a bicycle upright. I think now, it is believed that general frame geometry and inertia are what keep a bike up and rolling in one direction.

nicolai 10-31-11 06:58 AM

if i offended smb. by not introducing and all, apology is made,pls....sorry,what can be expected from a romanian red-neck?

CaptCarrot 10-31-11 08:21 AM

No offense taken.

Just think when asking a question, if you have given enough detail to get a coherent answer.
