Man I had a great ride. I got to ride 16 miles (which for big ole me is a good ride). Cryogenic and I went down this greenway on college campus and enjoyed using our new headlights. We then goofed off around campus, everyone there disliked my HID. I did wipe out though....caught my tire on the side of the greenway coming back onto the trail. I landed pretty hard on my side, scraped up my elbow/helmet. I'm good.

well I think it did, my head smacked the ground pretty hard and I am grateful I had my helmet on versus no helmet...I'll check and see if there is actually any damage to the helmet

No ride today, just a cold, wet slog to classes, work, and back. Over the weekend, I went to the Potawatomi trail in MI, and that was 18 miles in 1:54, average speed of 9.5 mph, top speed of 22.5.

I went for a ~10 mile ride on a local trail with my mom, who hates mountain biking - even more after that. We averaged about 5mph, I almost got frostbite on my hands, and she wiped out in some loose sand and the bike landed on her leg, causing a bruise.
Oh well, it was fun...

I love 'goofing around' in town, the route I love to take when possible starts up at the top of this really long, fast hill, turns off onto a side street, goes along a somewhat perilous trail alongside a cliff, then there's an area of dirt jumps and hills, you can fool around there for a while, jumping and dropping a bit, then ride to the park a few miles away, ride on the skate park if you feel like it, do some stair drops, and just have fun

Note: This ride almost always makes me feel like buying a new bike - not because this one doesn't do, but because riding just seems so worthwhile afterward

good job. but remember if your helmet hit hard it may be compromised. If you believe the integrity has been compromised then replace it.

I looked at it and there wasn't any significant damage, just lightly scuffed though it sure felt alot harder. LoL.

PWRDbyTRD -- I see that you just bought that HID light...Do you also use a helmet light? I've been looking for a light, mostly at Laseredge lights for $85 ... but you seem to be pretty happy with the cygolite and I think I can pick that up at a LBS rather than waiting for shipping from Laseredge...

You can visibly see things with streetlights still going at well over 150ft or so, I actually had quite a few people turn their head to it. it'll leave a halo in your eyes....you can get it from performance shipped for right under 300 bucks, if you're interested PM me and I'll get you the site to pricematch

That is stupid bright! $300 is more than the $85 I was looking to spend...so now I'm in a quandry......I'm going to have to give it some thought...Thanks for the pics... Ughhhhh, decisions, decisions...

Let me put it this way.. You won't be disappointed in owning it, that's for sure. I rode home tonight in the fog and this bad boy cut straight through the fog and was still lighting up signs a good 500ft away. Mind you, the fog was so thick that you could actually see the water droplets in the beam. Excuse the pun, but this light REALLY shines in bad weather. It literally puts out so much light that there's absolutely no way that anyone in front of you CAN'T see you, no matter the conditions. Plus, the light is super-white which makes things even more visible. Run time is about 4 hrs and charge time is 3-5 hrs. I bought the NiMH version (as did PWRD), which for the extra money includes the better and smaller battery along with the "smart" charger. I got mine from beyondbikes via a pricematch for $290 shipped 3-day UPS select. Small price to pay for something that could very well save my life.

I was actually debating on the cygo night rover which is like 12W Halogen combined NiMH, and after I saw cryo's I had no choice but to get the better one, I think if you plan on doing alot of night riding you need something stupidly bright so you can see where you're going, if you just want others to see you a 10W halogen will work.
