From the police files
Most local news papers post crime activity and what you public servants do for your tax dollars.
So I thought i would start a Thread for local police notes It should have something that pertains to cycling.
Here goes
Darwinian lesson in bicycle thievery
https://www.sonomanews.com/News-2011/...ycle-thievery/
Note there is a second note near the bottom about a cyclist. At least she got off the bike and was pushing it. A drunk auto driver would not be caught pushing their car

Didn't exaclty admit to it - just made up a BS story he thought would make it sound like he had done nothing wrong. People leave unwanted bikes and perfectly good helmets outside the Safeways all the time!

For those of you who have ever had a 'few' and gotten on your bike to ride home will know you have got to be pretty sloshed to not be able to ride. Although I suppose a lot of people have problems and get waaa-aaay drunker on a regular basis than I have ever been in my life. I am just not that dedicated

Yup, kid was busted, and as usual for a youth who would do that, tried to lie out of it.
When did the basic lesson from about age 4 stop sinking in? "If it's not yours, and you KNOW what's not yours, you HOLLER about what IS your all the time; if it's NOT yours, KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF IT!"
(Rhetorical, I already know the answer....)
