Yes there is at least one from the Valley.I do all my solo rides west of Ottawa with the odd foray up and around Eganville.16% grade at Foymount well worth the ride.Saw 91kmph on the downhill.Yeehaw.The OBC needs to get more west of Ottawa rides on Sundays.Theres more variety out this way.

Ottawa (city) here. I used to bike up to Gatineau but that was before the paths were frozen like a brick at 6am. Actually I used to go just about anywhere around here before it snowed, Orleans, Stittsville, Gatineau, Manotick, etc... so where abouts you live? Now I try to avoid biking anymore than say 15k in one direction (terribly under-equipped for the weather).

I never rode to Carp... never really considered it. Would be a nice distance though, I live near St.Laurent (Gloucester I guess) so Carp is PAST the other end of the city from me. I'm not in the OBC, not really sure that's my style, I don't think I really fit the typical OBC-style of biker. You in the OBC? Next summer I think I'm going to take off and maybe do some longer distance rides.

Yes I'm in the obc.I've been riding for 5yrs and the first was solo. Joining the club and riding with the older guys taught me alot of things that I would never have known. Also I don't think that there is a typical obc'er.I've met all kinds of individuals that are, well individual.I'm a bit of a redneck that rides because I love it, not to save gas or make some sort of statement. There is an obc open house this weekend and besides with a membership I figure it's been payed back with discounts at local shops.Just my opinion. As for long rides they rule.I figure I did about 14 imperial centuries this summer.
