Any interesting experience while biking???
Got stung by a wasp today.
..was biking to home from work and a wasp got stuck on the hole of my helmet... it was then that I was going 22mph and I had to hit my breaks hard, because the wasp thinks my forehead is his dinner. The bug took a few bites.
I finally was close to home that when a took my mask off, another bug flew in my mouth. Bugs never really taste that good. Maybe it is payback time from the bug who ate my forehead, because now I happen swallow his brother.
What goes around comes around.
Anyone has an interesting or funny experience while cycling???

I hate swallowing bugs while riding, it's so... sudden!
Apart for eating car doors or kissing the asphalt I'd say a very interesting experience was when a fancy carbon racer got pass by my 30 years old singlespeed and me on a steep hill. Poor guy he was looking like he saw a ghost.

Wife and I returning from a tour on a local MUP, last 20 miles or so. I'm following my wife, letting her set the pace. This strange fellow barely passes us then stays next to her around a blind bend and nearly crashes headfirst into an approaching roadie. He shouts "WTF?!" or equivalent while the passer continues ahead of us. I tell my wife "I'm going to catch him and tell him what he did wrong". I speed up to him and say "you need to pass quickly and get back in line to prevent crashes".
He says, "I'm sorry. I was passing that lady on the Trek 620 and the bike was so beautiful, I just had to look at it. My bad..."
True story. It is a really fine-looking bike. My wife's pretty, too, FWIW.

A couple of years ago on the way home from work, I was stung by a bee. Ended up in the ER and was discharged with a prescription for an Epi-pen. That was the day I found out I am allergic to bee toxin.
Fast forward a year, when I'm out riding in the country and am stung by a wasp. I pulled out the Epi-pen but decided to wait for the signs of anaphylaxis. They never came. So, I have found that while I'm allergic to bee toxin, I am not allergic to wasp toxin. Pretty cool, huh?

Have you ever used an Epi-pen? You do get a rush, but it goes pretty deep into your quad. It's not comfortable. Actually, it hurts like hell.

I hate bees and wasps! I was stung on the downhill winding section shown in the pic. Getting stung at 30 mph an you can't do a thing about it but try to hold steady, that hurt.
On another ride, I got bit by somehthing that looked like wasp but was solid black. Right over the heart. About 15 miles into a 40 mile ride. I finished the ride worrying about my heart stopping, I swear I felt it skip a few beats here and there.
On another ride, 2 bud and I were going all out on a 55 mile out an back. Half way through a bee landed on my neck and stung me. I shouted out but my buds woud not slow down so I continued on with the stinger in my neck ( I thought I had pulled it out). By the end of the ride, I had a somewhat of a bag of poison dangling around my neck. That year I got stung 4 times within 3 months. Now I swell and get the bag of poison thingy.
I use to shower before rides to prevent irritations. Found out that maybe the deodorant soap was attracting the bees. Haven't been stung on a ride since.
Not much you can do getting stung while flying down the zig zags at 30 mph.

Well, I went 32 years with out getting stung, then one day while out riding in the woods, buzzzzz & ouch! Thinking I was going to die, I ride like a bat out of hell to try to get out of the woods and to the road, figuring that if I am going to die, at least I will be found sooner if I'm closer to the road. After about 15 minutes of riding, I realize I'm not dead - not even a little bit, so, after catching my breath I finish my ride.

Today I was commuting, and I decided to turn left and go through a neighborhood as I sometimes do. I looked over my shoulder, and the car behind me was a little ways back, so I signaled and turned. At the same moment, the car behind decided to go around me (on my left). Then the motorist stopped in the wrong lane and just sat there for half a minute.

12 mile commute in southern Italy...farm road, fog, glasses, 90 degree curve to the stop sign and main road to base...need I say more? I've got the scar on my right hand to prove it!! On the other hand, same 12 mile commute with a beautiful morning and an APE cart running interference for me!! Whoo hoo! Motor pacing!! That made the commute fly by in a hurry! Almost bought a Moser frame while there - bought a Colnago Master instead.

Does having a JAM want to actually get in a fight with you because they feel that strongly that bicycles either don't belong on the road, or that any space to the right of a white line is automatically counts as a bike lane instead of a shoulder count?

Last October I think it was, I was riding a tight singletrack trail. I reached the end and decided to double back the way I came. On the way back, I caught a banana spider on the face and crashed when I missed the next bend while trying to swat it off. Those things work fast! That spot was clear when I rode through 15 minutes earlier, but by the time I came back it had already started stringing up a web across the trail.

Last October I think it was, I was riding a tight singletrack trail. I reached the end and decided to double back the way I came. On the way back, I caught a banana spider on the face and crashed when I missed the next bend while trying to swat it off. Those things work fast!
