Miles on the year
How many recorded miles do you guys have on the year? I say recorded because sometimes I ride with my computer disengaged.

Last year, about 10,000 km, counting trainer rides.
So far this year... 1,547 km of real cycling and about 500 km on the trainer.

It's been a good year for me so far with 2521kms/1575miles, my goal is 7500kms/4687miles, all outdoor.
Although I might miss a ride or two this week as I took a spill last night. Nothing major just lost the front wheel in some loose dirt when doing a U-bolt and bruised up my right knee, it's very swollen today. DOH!
CHEERS.

The season really just started for me. Not counting all the trainer miles through the winter, I have just over 120 miles. Trust me I'll catch up.

1820 Miles since October 1st when I first started cycling, I guess about 1000 of those are post Jan 1st. Not too bad for a newbie but I confess to being a little slack at the moment.

About 3100 miles since I changed my computer in July last year. On target for 4 or 5 K in the year.

Just ride.
Last year, somewhere between 5 and 6,000 miles (I don't track commuting mileage very closely). This year ~1400 miles so far.

since January 1 2002, i have a little over 2000km (1250miles) - it's a little hard to total exactly b/c i have 4 bikes and thus 4 odometers i only write the odometer numbers down once every few months:
* 35km - old commuter for short trips or theft-prone parking
* 140km - road bike (about - odo recored in October)
* 390km offroad- full suspension MTB (bought in March '02)
* 1685km (100 offroad) - hardtail MTb now commuter (100km/week commuting to work)
[B]= 2250km (1406 miles)[/B
i've averaged between 8000km and 20,000km (5000-12,000miles) annually for the last 4 years (less before)]

So far 1200 k (1000 of those during the last four weeks). I have never done this amount of training so early before, last year I had done 30 k at the end of April... Last year's total was 5400 k, this year will hopefully be my first over 6000 k.

I had close to 3,000 miles (4,828km) last year. That doesn't include commuting since I don't have a computer on that bike. Plus I had a magnetic pickup problem for a month while I waited for a part and lost some miles there too.
I have a story:
One of our club members was a huge mileage hound a few years ago (he's since backed off a bit). He had top mileage for the year by a huge margin over anyone else in our club.
Get this: over 14,000 miles! He's in his fifties, does ultra long distance rides and owns his own business in Accounting and Law. Busy guy! Well we gave him a trophy plaque all engraved to award his hard work. Trouble was I had it made and the wrong year was on the plaque. I'd made it for 1998 instead of the year he rode the miles which was 1997.
He felt guilty about having an award that he didn't think he deserved. So...
He went out the next year and did it again! Another +14,000 mile year! What a nut! Great guy, but he was determined to get it right. He got another plaque again the next year, this time with the right year and date. We lost count of how may century rides he attended and 24 hour challenges he ridden. He's the guy who on a very long club ride, will go out and do extra miles while everyone else is dragging themselves back to the ride start. A rider to be admired. He's not fast, just steady.

3700+ last year starting 2/5 when I started actually keeping a log. 1500+ so far this year. 1300 or so commuting.
By the way, the faithful Yorick, my primary and every faithful commuter battle steed, rolled up 5000 miles on the way to work yesterday. That's since he was new in November, 2000.

You guys do some crazy milage! I need to get a new computer so I could say with confidence that I have ridden 50 miles so far. Not been a good year so far for my riding, I need to work on that.

I'm at 1300 km--virtually all since March 1. I only do outdoor, so my January was 25 km (1 ride) and my February was 35 km (1 ride).
Fubar, you are only a pansy if you ask such a confession-inducing question and then don't cough up an answer yourself! Come on, we wanna know!
Cheers,
Jamie

You guys all have tons of miles!!! I am feeling very inadequate becuase of it. If you must know, I only have 500 miles recorded on my computer. My mountain bike doesn't have a computer and I know I have 100-200 on that. And I've done alot of riding inside on my stationary bike. But either way, I am not riding enough!!

With school I haven't had any extra time to get out and just ride. Well, no extra time if I want to earn the grades I shoot for.

That's my plan. I've done just that so far this week. I have a 1.5 hour training ride for today, Friday off, then 1 hour Saturday and 2.5 hours on Sunday....
