As I've found it doesn't matter what kind of bike you have or how much it cost don't expect many places to let you take it into their business.
At the shop i work at we no longet let people bring their bikes in because a incident that happened about a year ago... A guy brought his $5000 bike inand put the kick stand down and set it off to the side just inside the door. another guy walked in and wanked in the oppisite dirrection of the guys bike. but apperently whe wind coming in or something made the bike fall over. the handle bars hit the big 4'x6' mirror that was on the wall and it shattered. the pieces of mirror cut the seat and both tires and scratched the frame. the guy tried to sue us for the damages to his bike in the sum of $1500. his bike broke a $800 mirror. after his lawyer talked to ours they agreed to drop the whole thing (i dont know the details). we were just glad that nobody was by the mirror to get cut up.
but in the end no bikes are allowed inside any more. not even mine... i now lock up to a big old tree thats way out on the back corner of the parking lot.

There's a strong legal requirement for letting wheelchairs in (even if that isn't absolute) and there is absolutely no legal requirement for bicycles.
Why are people talking about wheelchairs?
You do realize that the issues with wheelchairs and bicycles is obviously different, don't you? (It's really hard to tell.)
It's stupid equating bicycles with wheelchairs. It makes no sense that people are talking about wheelchairs.
And accommodating wheelchairs is legally required and accommodating bicycles isn't. Which means any other argument is moot. If they both bring in dirt, then having to deal with less dirt is preferable isn't it?

What are you going to do when some elderly handicapped person with a walker or wheel chair comes in and smacks the crap out of your pristine machine?
So you see, it really is YOUR problem.
And yes, a lot of people do have that problem.

The "less dirt" argument is pretty lame, as I walk dirt into the place simply by virtue of the fact my feet were on the ground outside and are now on their carpet. The only way to stop people tracking in dirt is to stop people coming in at all.

One more query for the OP: do you take up two spaces in parking lots because of the $20,000 paint job on your pickup, too?

Your assumption is that he's not reading the replies. I can't imagine more posts would help him much.
