Weather conspiracy?
Here we go again. I had a 4 day weekend it is cold again today. I did get a ride in on Friday, it was decent weather on Saturday too but I had other things I needed to do.
It turned colder Sunday and is cold again today (only 38F). Call me a wimp but it has to be above 40F before I go out unless there is something special planned then I ride to maybe 32F. And I look at the weather forecast and what do I find? 48F and sunny (depending on what weather service you look at) tomorrow, but I need to go to work :notamused: ! OK rain the rest of the week after that but that leads into the weekend with colder temperatures. Then look warm again on Monday but I will be back at work! :notamused: Is this some kind of conspiracy? |
Ride to work? :p

i will not call you a wimp. i will say, if you have the right gear, you can ride in rainy weather and snowy cold weather and be quite warm and comfy. comes a time you gotta say "F" the weather and ride despite it.

I rode today anyway. It was 38 degrees, and it was windy has heck, but I was dying to get some miles in. I'm glad did it.

Same here I rode. The thermometer nudged over 40F and I went out. I had to get out I was getting cabin fever. It was actually kind of pleasant. Not too bad once I got moving. The downhills are always a bear.

This winter has been great. I've got over 350 miles in this year so far commuting. I can't ever remember having more miles on my bike than my plow truck in Jan/Feb.
18 deg this AM when I left so I actually threw on another shirt over the base layer and under the jacket. Pretty soon I'm hoping to ditch the hiking boots. This has been the first week I haven't needed the lights to see in in the AM or PM. |
New England has had a ridiculously mild winter so far which has been great for riding. Most days get into the low-mid 40s and there's been very little or no snow. I've been able to ride as much as I do in the warmer seasons.
