Value of my car vs the value of my bike

I just looked up the blue book on my car.
Who else's bike is worth more than their car?

How did you figure the value of your bike? In my experience, they depreciate a lot faster than motor vehicles.

I did it in my head. How much I would pay for a bike built up the same as mine is more than what Kelly says my car would bring.

My car was $550 when bought 7 years ago.
My recumbent was $1,400 when bought 4 years ago.

I've driven the car about 50 miles. 40 of that was coming home from where I bought it. But later that week, I got laid off and my wife asked for a divorce, so I went into super-economy mode.

Since the car I drive (as opposed to the one I own) is a '98 Saturn, I'm guessing it's about a wash.

Actually, it's a time-honored tradition, at least among young racer types, to have a bike worth more than the car.

Maybe. Perhaps a relevant value for the bike would be how much someone would pay for it in its current condition and compare that to what you could sell your car for. My bike is in great shape and only a year old, but I bet it'd be tough to get 1/2 what it was new, which is of course much less than what I value it at, but then I know its provenance.

I have a '92 Honda Accord and a Giant Rapid 1. They're worth about the same (I might be overvaluing the car). I maintain both very well. My bike has more miles than my car this year. Most of my car miles came from a 300 mile road trip. Besides the road trip, I've only had to fill my gas tank once.

2012 Canondale SuperSix Di2 and 2012 Audi S4. The bike cost about a 10th of the car. The bike is paid for though and I ride almost half as many miles as I drive weekly.

1995 Honda Civic Coupe has KBB of $2200. My one day old Synapse was $3200 + tax. I think my 2003 Trek is worth about $600.

I would think that each of three of my four bikes out-value my car. What are my feelings about this? I feel that I value cycling more than driving. Go figure! LOL!

My car is 20+ years old and can't find it in KBB. I'm sure a few of my bikes each are worth more than my car.

I've got two cars and eight bikes. Figure $2k in cars and maybe $3k in bikes?

I love them all.

I love riding my bike, but I'm also a big car nut too... So, my car is definitely worth more.
