Tennessee's worst cycling road!

Here's what happens when you try to ride TN 266. It's the most cycling hostile road I've ever ridden. You have normally a 1 foot wide rock and debris strewn 'shoulder' between the rumble strips and a significant ditch drop off. Here you see me getting on the rumble strip and losing it Additionally, the road is posted at 50 mph so traffic is whizzing by. I'll never ride that one again.

That road looks just about unrideable. Brave man indeed.

Why were you riding to the right of the white line? You are a vehical take the lane. As long as you stay reasonabley to the edge y ou should be fine.

Lucky you didn't get hurt.

I would have ridden it a bit differently. It looks tamer than route 42 here in ole Kentuck.

I guess I should, but it's a curvy road posted at 50mph. To make it worse, I was riding at rush hour. I still don't have the trust sometimes, but in this case it certainly would have been better.

I would have been a foot or two to the left of the white line.

Don't ride on the shoulder! Just say NO. The traffic looked fine.
