    RANS Road Bike

I'm looking to purchase a new road bike and was looking at one built by RANS. Just curious about any of you that currently own one (doesn't matter the style) but would love to hear what you like and/or don't like about your RANS.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Might want to post this in the recumbent section. Interesting mix of semi- & full 'bents.

+1. Don't own a RANS, but they are a major player in the bent arena. Some of their recumbents are considered classic designs. RANS also sponsored a RAAM team, and their main business is making small airplanes if that tells you anything about quality.

I own 2, an Enduro Sport and a Screamer tandem. I was kind of backed into switching to recumbents following an accident that broke both of my elbows.

I bought the Enduro Sport as a frameset and built it up mostly with good quality components from my spares bin. It's my first recumbent so I really don't have anything to compare it with. I had to buy a Rans RocLoc or whatever they call it to keep my seat from sliding backward when I push hard on the pedals. I picked the Enduro Sport frame because I didn't want anything with a higher seat or bottom bracket and Carl at Rans told me they expected the Enduro Sport to eventually replace the T-Rex. If I were doing it over, I'd get a Ti-rex frameset just for the extra bling points. I have no complaints whatever with the Enduro Sport.

I thought that I wanted a Seavo tandem, but when we went to Hays for a test ride, I quickly learned that with no previous recumbent experience that bike wasn't going to work for us. I don't have anything bad to say about the Screamer but we haven't been able to get acclimated to it.
