Help With Loose Chain

Hi everyone,

I just started biking last fall and haven't learned much about bikes so please be patient with me. I recently got a tune up on my bike and the next day went to ride it and my chain came loose. Normally I would have gone right back to the bike store to have it fixed but I'm in the midst of finals and haven't had the time, so a couple of weeks have passed. I can post a picture if that would be helpful.

I really have like no money so if someone could help me fix it I would be grateful. I have a Fuji Cambridge VI so it looks like this:

Unless you have a bicycle skilled friend take this to the shop since the 'cause for the chain to jump off must be found. Then your shifter, derailleur reset etc. so it's best done in knowledgeable hands.

1. You've waited days or weeks to get this fixed because you "don't have time"? How much time have you wasted not having the bike? This is more than likely something a shop could fix in five minutes, depending on...
2. What do you mean by "came loose?" did it shift off the chainrings (front) or cassette (back)? That's probably the result of a poorly adjusted derailleur, and it's the fault of the shop that did the tuneup. Assuming nothing else is wrong, they should fix it free, fast and without complaint.
To ride the bike, try moving the derailleurs so they're lined up with the small chainring and small cog on the cassette. Work the chain onto the small cog, then pull the bottom run of chain forward so you move the rear derailleur. That should give you enough slack to get the chain on the small ring. Adjusting the limit screws on the derailleurs will keep it from happening again. You can google that or have the shop show you.
