Just wanted to share, bicycle repair stand DIY

Hello, I wasn't sure which area this would fit best in, so I figured this would be a safe bet. I found these instructions online and went ahead and built it, it cost $35 total for everything.

https://www.instructables.com/id/PVC-...-Repair-Stand/

Surprisingly, it works great. Just a couple things I didn't like about the original design though. First, the screws that hold the hinge and clasp on stick through, and if you leave them at full length, they will go through the foam and scratch your frame/seat post. I grinded mine down, and no issues. Secondly, he glued the part of the stand that holds your bike, I found it better to make a slit in the 45 degree elbow behind the 4" extension piece, put a hose clamp around it that will allow for tightening, and then you can use it vertically or horizontally.

Anyway, $35 for a bike repair stand, and about 2-3 hours isn't bad considering the production stands sold are fairly expensive. And I also like that this is bench top. It's working great for me so far, and has even stood up to a 25-30 lb (possibly more) '70s Mixte frame. Hope someone can use this, thanks!

I was planning on building a similar stand- but a floor model out of iron pipe...but I just saw this for $90 https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Cycle...s=repair+stand Think I'll spring for it!

I need one that will work on both upright, and recumbent bikes. (I'll probably wind up building something if I get a trike...)
