Trek Fx 7.5 2007 used, should I grab this?

Hello ,

I'm new to bike forum and excited to be here.

lots of information already :)

i'm just wondering that Trek Fx 7.5 2007, seller told me that it's almost in new condition and don't need tune up, she sells it as 400$.

is this good deal? should I grab this?

I'm trying to buy bike to riding around boston, and planning few day trip, too.

and If I get this, what rear rack should I buy? any recommendation?

thanks in advance :)

cannot judge condition and wear & tear from here ..

that's true.. what do you think about the price tho? i'm going to check it out tomorrow, and if it's in mint condition, would you grab this?

If the bike is your size I think that is a good buy. If the bike is not your size then it is not a good buy for you even if she was asking half that price. I was looking at a FX 7.3 this evening that was a good buy but I didnít get it because it was too big for me. I passed on a vintage 10 speed Lotus this week that was going for $25.00. Why? Because it was too big for me. However, I now wish I had taken the Lotus to flip it.

So if the FX 7.5 fits you then yes, itís a fair price in my option.

sounds good. I asked her and original owner is same tall as me. i'll go to check this out tomorrow and if I grab it, I'll post with pictures.

thanks!

Try it yourself and make up your own mind. If it is really as clean as the seller says, $400 isn't bad. A brand new one would be over $800. On the other hand, if the bike isn't as clean as the seller says, adjust your offer accordingly.

As for fit, don't just assume that it will fit you if you are the same size as the original owner. I recently bought a used Bianchi Milano from a 5'4" tall woman. I am a 5'9" man and the bike fit me fine. The seller basically admitted the bike was too big for her, and that is why she didn't ride it much.

$500 will buy a brand new Spec. Sirrus or a Felt City....

Why buy that for $400, when you could get this, instead!

The Jamis Coda Sport ~ $560

It's brand new! You get a warranty! You already know its history! There are no dents or scratches!

That really means nothing. I know plenty of people who own the wrong size bikes. Most manufactures have a guide for determining size.

um.. okay, i've been riding schwinn cheap road bike for a while and never thought about the size before... Now I think mine is pretty big for me. anyway, I'll give a shot to trek 2007 fx 7.5, and if feel uncomfortable, I'll just give up.

thanks for your help guys!
