Pffft. You guys should see MY video! It's like TWICE this long, and I run a red light AND a stop sign.

Most of the time when I read about someone on a bike getting hit by a car, I wonder if they were riding like that.

Yeah? Well I'm gonna make one three times as long and I'll run a stoplight, a stop sign and do it on the wrong side of the street.

With no helmet.

Riders like Joeybike give all cyclists a bad name. It's hard enough trying to ride safely when none of the drivers know the rules of the road, when they see guys like Joeybike or this guy breaking the law it validates their ignorance and hate for cyclists...despite the many laws that were put on the books for our safety.

Joeybike and this video is what is truly lame, because they only exist to glorify breaking the rules for their own personal benefit, at the expense of the safety of all cyclists.

I'll see you're 5mph, twin moving violation, helmet-less salmon and raise you by doing it at night.

With no lights.

Wow. Don't you think you're over-reacting just a tiny bit? This was a kid video, with like, a half dozen crossing guards. Lame: yes. Evidence of the downfall of society: I don't think so.

I'll see all that and do it on a Carbon Fiber bike that has been exposed to daylight!

Take THAT!

My video shows a victimless crime.

I repeat, no one was harmed in the making of this video.

The big government nanny staters who want to make everything illegal to protect people from themselves should go jump off a cliff and let people have some freedom and liberty.

^ Oh jeez.

So that's what this was? A PSA about how bikers running red lights is a victimless crime?

Why couldn't you have just put that in the video and made a proper PSA instead of posting what seems to be 22 random seconds of a random person riding some random noisy bike.

You couldn't have just started a thread titled "Running red lights is victimless?"

Whatevz.

Thats a lot like the people who think stealing isn't really a crime because most people have insurance and will submit an inflated claim anyway.

But lets play the game your way. Lets invite EVERYBODY in YOUR neighborhood to NOT stop at stop signs or red lights anymore - that includes people driving bicycles, motorcycles, cars, 18-wheelers and cement trucks. Anything ese would be preferential treatment and that would create victims of discrimination.

You're going to have to do better than that, I get more grief when I act and operate my bicycle like a "vehicle" and follow the rules of the road, than if I happen to roll an occasional stop sign or run a stop light that doesn't detect bicycles.

Sure, anybody can run a red light when its a beautiful sunny day in Southern California on flat ground. Be a man and do it on a steep down-hill in heavy traffic when it's at night, below zero and in the middle of a blizzard.

A traffic light is a social contract. The point of stopping or not stopping at a light is not because it is legal/illegal. It's because the light was put there to (hopefully) make traffic flow more smoothly overall, allowing more people to get where they are going faster. The point of stopping at a red light is to let others know that they can proceed safely.

All I took away from this video was that someone was foolish, greedy, self-centered and stupid.

LOL You left out the complete lack of any cinematographic skills that might make it possible to overlook the foolish, greedy, self-centered and stupid main character.

And I raise you doing it riding backward on a tall-bike fixie while popping a wheelie.

A kid video running a red light with a half dozen unofficial crossing guards? that's the new definition of lame, or pointless.

How many adults does it take to teach a kid to run a red light? Apparently, A HALF DOZEN.

Let's see how well that kid does when the adults aren't around, but all the cars are. You must be GREAT parents. Keep it up.
