So...what do you guys do to keep from going crazy while nursing an injury?

Been out for a month so far. They are still trying to figure out what it is, but so far its real bad tendonitis of my right knee with suspected meniscus involvement. Waiting on the results of an MRI as we speak.

Either way, I'm going stir crazy cause the PT guy has me pretty much on just stretching exercises, and no riding allowed. I wouldn't even try it anyway cause it hurts.

So just for kicks, was wondering what my fellow bike freaks did or do during their injury downtime. I've been doing a lot of research on my next bike, and scoping out shops I might want to buy it from, but thats only fun for so long since I can't even get fitted until I'm better. Maybe share some stories to help a fellow downed bro..

Try short stroll walks to keep your legs limber. Easy does it.....just move easy.

I would find an alternate form of exercise. Bench presses, pull ups, etc. Upper body workouts that do not engage the legs.
Then again I have the arms of an nonathletic teenage girl.

Work your core. It'll help when you get back on the bike.

When I was younger and fitter and was very very serious about Rugby there was a point where only one out of my 4 limbs was not injured. No way could I run for training and fitness was a real issue.

I went back and worked out swimming with my old AAU swim club.

Now you injury may preclude any hard training in the pool, but a fairly relaxing swim could well be good for the knee an denough excercise to keep uyuo from feeling you are turning into a slug.

BUT do be careful if you swim laps when making the turn, I can easily see getting to enthusiastic and pushing off in a way that stresses the knee.
