Toronto Police maintains their own registry. Operation Hands Off apparently has a national database and offers registration stickers as well as MicroDot DNA kits for CSI-level protection.

Keep that serial number handy; if the bike is stolen, provide the serial number as part of the police report and it will be entered into CPIC, which is available to every police service in the country.

The most important thing is just to keep a record of your bikes and serial numbers. If one does take a walk, report it.

The online stuff that wants to charge you to register it just seems like a scam to me. I'm not going to bother with it. All they are doing is keeping a record of the information.
