Bost: I am SO FAST!!!
HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!
I just got home from school and when I got to my door I looked at my computer and my time was 00:22:48!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG With a 20lb backpack I shaved A THIRD off my time, I always try to get up the hill as fast as possible (with pack or no) but DAMM
I was putting down so much tork that I broke one of my pedals and chipped flakes off both cleats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No Idea how I did it and I only had to take one big break at the start and two smaller ones to let the lactic acid bled out of my arms and legs!!!!!!
I AM PUMPED I an Going to go try it again on my new road bike, one of the pedals on the MTB broke!!!!!

I just got back and I did the 1/2 mile 300+ foot climb in 4:39.
That is good right? tell the truth...
And MERTON yes 22min... BUT I take my time with a 25+ pound pack, baggy heavy cotton school attire on an under sized MTB, with a gunky un-cared for chain, and with 50psi off-road tires! I like to see any one who has only been serous about biking for 6-7 months do any better.

But really, is a 1/2 mile 360-ish foot climb in 4:39 or 40 miles in 2:20:00 (both on a road bike) any good or not?

That's about a 6.5mph average on a 13.6% grade (assuming your numbers are spot on). Pretty good, I'd say, you can do better though.
