Trek DS 8.2 or 8.3

Hello all,

I had a Trek 7.3FX in the past that I had enjoyed fully then sold and I want to buy a new bike. I am thinking about a Trek 8.2 or 8.3 DS but the new models do not come out until mid-September. So I am looking for possible alternatives. My price range is 500-700 and I am looking for a bike with the similar road-mountain bike hybrid design as the Trek DS. All input is welcome and I appreciate the help!

I looked into that myself a few months back and found that the trek 8.x series seem to offer the best bang for the buck. Especially the 8.5 in my opinion. Every brand has something similar so the best thing you can do is hit a few lbs's and test ride all one from each brand and see which one rides most enjoyable.

Thanks Mondo. By the way, what does "lbs's" mean?
