    Primal Wear Woman's Jersey Fit??

I was going to get my wife a jersey and a set of shorts for her birthday and need some help. I wanted to get her a Primal Wear jersey, but how do they run? Are they on the tight or loose side? I'd like this to be a surprise so I don't what to have her try on a jersey at the LDS.

And just so you know, she doesn't own a jersey yet. For that matter she doesn't have a bike, but I'll have to get her that too, if she already has the clothes.

    Any help would be appreciated.

They run how they run. Honestly, if you want to buy your wife a jersey, you'll have to figure out what size she is first.

If she's not "Gargantua, frankenstein of the north", don't get a large. It will be way too big. As far as a medium or a small, who knows? Only you know her size, and on top of that, with jerseys, some women prefer them loose and some prefer them tight. You have to know that too so you don't end up getting her something that fits funky for her taste.

    Good luck...

Does she know she wants a bike, let alone a jersey?

I'd say better to buy small than big. If you buy too big, you'll get the incensed "did you really think I was that fat" line, but if you buy too small you can always excuse yourself with "but you are the perfect size for me anyway" line. But the question of whether she knows she wants a bike is valid. If I wasn't into cycling, and some guy (husband or not) came along and gave me a jersey with some freakish and outlandish pattern (which is what primal wear is) I'd probably take up jogging -- fast and in the opposite direction.

My wife and I exchanged several jerseys as Xmas presents - there are some really nice ones. (She gave me a "Old Guys Who Get Fat In Winter Racing Team" jersey!).

Anyway, according to my wife, they run pretty true to size, but you need to understand that they are normally skin tight, which your wife may or may not like, which is probably the more important question. My wife is sort of between a small and medium, and requested the medium, since she doesn't like them too tight. As a precaution, maybe you should make sure that you can exchange it if you need.

The matching socks are a nice touch, too -- anything to keep the spouse on your side and convince them its a civilized sport Fortunately, my wife is a triathelete.

    Good luck.

I bought my wife 2 primal shirts for Xmas and I found the sizing in Primal's catalogue/website to be ok (I also bought one.)

Yes, Primal Wear are true to size.

I like the "outlandish" designs (see avitar). Beats wearing a jersey that's advertising beer.
