Please, Im new to road biking and I need help with this decision!

Hi im a newby and because of that I have a common question and appreciate any feedback that I can get from you omniscient masters of the road.
I am wanting to get in to road biking (have been an avid MTB for years) and have two options that I have narrowed my search down to:
1. I can buy a bike like the Gravity Liberty 2 on Bikesdirect.com
OR
2. I found a guy that is selling a 2005 Felt F70, 20 speed Dura Ace (about a year old), Ultegra cranks, Ritchey bars and stem, 24 spoke Xerolite XR4 wheels, and said he would throw in a tool kit, pump, tires, and a computer. He says that it got a tune up and lubed about 2 months ago and is in great condition. The good thing about this is that instead of spending money he will trade me for something that I have which value totals about $500 (snowboard, etc). My concern is that it is a 2005 so it is 7 years old.

Not knowing a tone about road bikes and wear, which one would be a better choice?

Thank you so much ahead of time, I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge that all of you can share with me

If the Felt fits you it would be the better bike assuming it is in good shape. Bikes Direct is not on the top of my list but it would be better than a big box store. If it shecks out fine and the DA shifters are top notch. Felt makes some nice bikes Gravity not so much. But that is just my opinion.

If it fits, get the Felt. Just make sure the firearm transaction is done properly.

Usually discussion of firearms is frowned upon by the moderators, so look to have your post removed and nastygram in your inbox, as well as mine.

The Felt is for sure the better deal if it's in good shape. 7 years old should not be a problem at all unless the frame has been in a crash.

A Felt with a Dura-Ace/Ultegra mix sounds like a nice deal for $500 worth of trade. Make sure it's the right size or it's not such a good deal for you no matter what it's worth.

Did anyone vote for the Felt? Get the Felt, if it fits!

According to the federal rules on p2p transactions, the seller only needs "no reason to believe" the buyer is legally unable to own. An offer to trade such an item on CL raises a huge red flag for me. There are established venues for this sort of trade.
I'd also like clarification on the rules regarding mention of firearms. I seem to recall a thread on CCW while riding.
