I just found the perfect crank set :)

I read all about how spinning is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I even left my mtb with a 44t chain ring so I had to spin faster. Then I spotted a nice sram crankset with a 48t chain ring. I have 11-34 on the back. So I changed out the cranks, replaced the chain and rear sprockets with a fresh set they were worn out anyway. I have to say... I'm in love. I really love the power and range this particular crankset/sprocket set gives me. Fits my preferred cadence perfectly and there is no stress either way (fast or slow) on my legs.

I get 48-11 if I want to bomb down hills or a nice range of gears for flats on the large chain ring. In the middle I have plenty of climbing power and the granny ring will granny up anything. Very happy with changing just one part. :)

Glad to hear that.I'm in the process of putting my bike together with a 11-32 in back and a 26-36-46 triple. Hope I get similar results.

I'll probably regret posting this link, but here goes.

I agree for my style of riding. My Univega has 52-14 as the highest gear. Can't recall ever wanting more. Eventually, the 6 speed freewheel will be changed out for a 8 speed 12-28 with 46 x 36 x 24 crankset.
