What a wonderful time I had :D ! Came home from work and went out for a ride. On the way home I saw a few delivery guys on their bike slipping and sliding, I knew I was in for a treat. Itís snowing HARD here In New York. They are expecting anywhere from 12 to 20 inches. So anyways, back to my rideÖÖ Didnít dress as worm as yesterday because itís around 20 today and no wind. Deflated tires about half way, for better traction, yes Iím running slicks. And went out hoping Iíll be able to stay on. The first time I got on, it wasnít happening. After a few tries I managed to pedal in my lowest granny gear, and off I went. Rode on sidewalks because of safety concerns plus fresh snow gives better traction then car compressed snow on the road. Went around my and few other blocks with constant slipping and sliding. Taking corners was more of a sliding action then cornering. But with just right application of physics, my weight and brakes (which I didnít have), I managed it. A few people were shoveling the show and one guy I passed started laughing really loud. I wonder why, but I didnítícare because I had a grin myself :D . Tell you the truth, now I can take any trail out there after this balancing act. Loved it, if you thinking about doing something like that stop thinking and go out there. Itís like riding bike for the first time!!!!!!!!
Out of my building, before putting on my gloves decided to take a pic.
Like Ii said, SLICKS baby ! You just a bunch of scared little girls with your studded tires out there. There, I said it :D
Check out the snow build up on the brakes and my granny gear. Iím happy that I didnít swap out my triple for a single ;) Virtually had no braking power, but i wasn't going fast anyways.
those are my tracks...
